mitchell_mapThis year’s Coronado Home and Garden Tour is taking a new, more targeted approach; 2011 is the year of the Bungalow style home. The neighborhood association has contacted several homeowner who own bungalow style homes on Mitchell Street and asked them if they would open their homes and gardens to the public. A dozen or so homes have been selected and the public is in for a treat as we gather to see a bit of Phoenix history shown through the homes of Coronado Historic District.

The Coronado Historic District is loosely bounded by Virginia to the north, McDowell to the south, 7th St. to the west and 16th St. to the east. It was designated historic in late 1986 and includes a number of subdivisions and home styles including the bungalows being featured in the 2011 Coronado Home and Garden Tour.

The 2011 Coronado Home and Garden Tour is being held on Sunday, March 6th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The homes and festivities will be happening on Mitchell Street just south of Oak in the Coronado Historic District. Mitchell is a small north south street and we’ve include a map to help you find it. In addition to the dozen bungalow homes, you will see some wonderful gardens, a classic car exhibit and wine tasting at 12th and Oak. A lot of fun all on one day and one place.
