It is an exciting time for those of us who love historic homes as the 2012 Windsor Square Historic Home Tour is about to occur. Windsor Square Historic tour only happens every other year so if you miss the 2012 event you’ll have to wait until 2014 for the next one.
This year’s Windsor Historic Home and Garden Tour will feature about a dozen homes and gardens along with a cheery street fair featuring food, clothing, art and other vendors… plus music.
Historic Home tours are just plain fun. No only do you get to see some fantastic homes from the 1920’s-1940’s, you get to explore a bit of Phoenix’s history. As a tour buff, I am love to watch people’s faces as many have no idea Phoenix has historic districts and homes. The truth is we have 35 designated historic districts throughout the Phoenix area with thousands of homes from the early to mid 1900’s. Windsor Square Historic Home and Garden Tour Details
Date: Sunday, March 25th, 2012
Time: 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Where should I park for the Windsor Tour?: The best parking is in the neighborhood along Pasadena Ave, W Medlock Dr., E. Orange Dr. and 6th Street. It’s on a first come basis though. Generally speaking, the Windsor Historic District is NE of Camelback and 7th Street.
How much walking is involved?: The Windsor Historic tour is a self-guided walking tour. When you get your ticket you’ll receive a map to the homes and we are told they are all within a four block radius. Comfy shoes, a bit of sunscreen and some water are always a good idea.
How much are tickets to the 2012 Windsor Home Tour? Tickets are just $12.00
Where Can I Purchase Tickets for the 2012 Windsor Square Historic Tour?
- You can purchase tickets for the Windsor Square Historic Home at the event or online. The on-site ticket booth will be located at 2nd Street and Medlock Dr.
- You can purchase tickets online. The Windsor Square Neighborhood web site has an online ticket option. Click here and we’ll take you to their page. You can pick up your tickets at the Will Call Table located at 2nd Street and Medlock. Bring your photo ID with you to pick up your tickets.
What are the homes like in Windsor Square? Well, we have a treat for you. We have a with about 80 pictures Windsor Square and its delightful homes. You’ll see fine examples of revival style homes and even a peek inside some of these interesting houses.
