Best Places to Take Your Valentine Downtown Phoenix List
Cibo: No list would be complete without mentioning Cibo. The pizza and associated Italian influenced offerings are simply wonderful. We especially like the patio dining and the cozy dining inside the 1913 Bungalow is quite special. This is a popular place so come early. Not sure if they are taking reservations but I’d give them a call to see.

The Arrogant Butcher: Part of the Fox Restaurant offerings, The Arrogant Butcher is a great American style food eatery. It’s location at CityScape makes a stroll by the shops before dinner fun. The menu is diverse and we’ve never had a bad meal here. Miss Amy especially likes the ribs and their steaks, jambalaya and salads are all tasty. The offerings from the bar are equally varied. Afterwards you can catch some comedy at Stand Up Live making it a full evening of fun. There is parking to the east or you can valet.
Location: 2 East Jefferson #150
Carly’s Bistro: This is a true locals spot serving a middle eastern flair. Carly’s is intimate and has neighborhood charm. Local’s like the quality of the food and great IPA beer selection. Being a Stella fan, I always happy. The Bruschetta offerings are spot on as well as the Humus and amazing salads. I am told the sandwiches are excellent too… I just love their salads too much to veer off in another direction. After dinner you can walk a ½ block to The Nash and listen to great jazz.
Location: 128 E Roosevelt in the Roosevelt Row area.
Taco Guild: This is a new place that is the talk of downtown. We’ve been to Taco Guild several times and enjoyed each visit. It is located in a former Methodist Church that still has its stained glass windows. It has a solid feel to it… since the bones are stone, wood and brick it makes sense. The fare is non-traditional Mexican. As their name suggests, they offer a varity of tacos with filling you seldom see like duck. I love the grilled romaine salad with chicken. YUM. The have a full bar and impressive tequila selection.
Location: 546 E Osborn (Actually on the NW corner of 7th Street and Osborn behind the Starbucks.
Breadfruit and Rum Bar: This is a very intimate place with an authentic Jamaican menu. Breadfruit’s seafood offering are exceptional, especially their award winning Appleton Rum Sea Scallops. The Arizona Republic calls it “a Phoenix Gem, we agree. It’s a small place so make sure and get a reservation. You can make one on their website or by calling.
