The 26th Annual Willo Home Tour happened on February 9th 2014, a day with beautiful weather and lots of excited people. 13 properties were featured this year including English Revivals, Spanish Mission, a Frank Lloyd Write inspired home, a transitional ranch, craftsman style and the old Firehouse.
The 2014 Willo Home Tour was, as always, well-orchestrated. Lots of food vendors made finding a tasty meal easy and the variety of homes was excellent with many exceptional properties. As in the past there was live music in the park and lots of local merchants showing their wears on Monte Vista. It is no accident this family & dog friendly event draws thousands from across the Valley. We send out a BIG “way to go” shout to Cindy Deponti and Drue Kaplan, the tour’s co-chairs, as well as the many others who worked so hard to ensure the 26th Willo Tour was a magical time.
Who Won Best of Willo Home Tour?
There is no official best of Willo home tour but we did viewed the homes and selected Jan Lorant’s Spanish Mission home as the Best of Willo Home Tour. Lorant, a respected architect, created a true masterpiece. The living room features a free standing fireplace and architectural ceiling that is unique yet complements the home in a meaningful way. We were also taken with the creative use of space in the roomy and restful master bedroom. This is a fine example of why it pays to include the services of a skilled architect when planning home renovations.
