Things are heating up here in the Valley of the Sun and temperatures are quickly making their way into the triple digits. With school out of session, parents are always on the lookout for “cool,” family-friendly activities and Downtown Phoenix has got you covered. There are a ton of great options to keep everyone busy all summer long! Here are a few of our favorites:

Splash It Off

Hit the pool, grab a sprinkler, or head to the nearest splash pad! CityScape offers a free splash pad (with awesome jets) and is open seven days a week. After splashing around, hit up an ice cream shop or chill at the movies – either way, you can keep it cool all day long.

Go, Team, Go!

One of the best things about Phoenix – air-conditioned sports facilities! Catch a game and stay cool while doing it. This summer catch nine innings with the Diamondbacks (and their sweet treats) or watch some of the greatest WNBA players take the court at a Mercury game. Both teams play throughout the summer, and there is no shortage of lemonade and peanuts!

Keep It Educational

Head down to the Arizona Science Center or Children’s Museum of Phoenix, and enjoy a day of fun, interactive, and educational experiences for the kids. Take advantage of the many camps and classes these museums have to offer! From making your own dog treats to art projects and music classes, there is something for children of all ages.
