Fall is here! And while our morning and evening temps are so wonderfully mild, we haven’t quite reached that highly coveted sweater weather yet. So for those of you longing for a true Autumn experience – vibrantly colored leaves, cozy sweaters and blankets, and that crisp chill in the air – we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite Arizona road trips that will give you all that and more!

Bisbee
Just a few hour drive and oh so much cooler – temp wise only, of course – Bisbee, Arizona is known as the Queen of the Copper Mines. Fun Fact: During its mining heyday, it produced nearly 25 percent of the world’s copper and was the largest city in the Southwest between Saint Louis and San Francisco.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While that was quite a while ago, Bisbee is now home to a thriving downtown cultural and art scene. With charming restaurants, shops, and architecture, this extremely walkable town is a great place to visit and get away from it all! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Jerome
Jerome, AZ has a unique and storied history. Founded in 1876, it began as a small copper mining camp that turned into a bustling mining town. When the mine closed in 1953, Jerome became more of a ghost town, but eventually made a grand comeback with a vibrant community of artists, musicians, small shops and local restaurants – and even a few ghosts, we’ve heard. Just a couple hours from Phoenix with cooler temps, Jerome is always on our list of fun places to visit in Arizona, especially during the month of October when they host their infamous Ghost & History Tours!

Willcox
Pick your own pumpkins and apples, visit wineries and vineyards, and enjoy the wide open spaces, stunning scenery and so many stars at night….. you can do all this and more in Willcox. Whether it’s a day trip or a weekend getaway, this small eastern AZ town should definitely be on your list of places to visit. Don’t let the size fool you – this charming town really does have something for everyone, is less than a few hours from Phoenix, and the best part is…… Willcox is on average 10 degrees cooler! We don’t know about you, but we’re thinking a weekend of pumpkin picking and wine sounds pretty good right now!

Prescott
Ready to experience Fall with all those vibrant colors that completely skip Phoenix every year? Us too! Less than 2 hours away, Prescott has all the Fall vibes we’re craving right now, with their cooler temps and those orange, red, and yellow leaves we love so much. On top of that, Prescott has a vibrant downtown filled with charming local shops like @shopmaryanded, great restaurants like @theravencafe and cool, retro places to stay like @themotorlodge

Our plan for a perfect day in Prescott: Get a head start on your holiday shopping at Mary & Ed, have cocktails and snacks on The Raven’s super cool rooftop patio, and then stay at the always swanky Motor Lodge🙌

We’re always looking for new cool spots to visit and would love to hear from you. So tell us, what are your favorite AZ cities for a quick get away? Tag us on the ‘Gram in all of your Arizona adventures and we’ll check out those spots too!  @urbanconnectionphx
