Which style of historic Downtown Phoenix home is your favorite and why?

The Transitional/Early Ranch and the Craftsman or California Bungalow. I grew up in a ranch-style home, and my wife and I lived in an old bungalow in San Diego, so I am definitely attracted to those two style the most.

What are some of your kids’ must-visit spots in Downtown Phoenix?

They love the Arizona Science Center, Children’s Museum of Phoenix and Arizona Diamondbacks games at Chase Field.

…all in a single day, you go from an amazing brunch at Matt’s Big Breakfast then hop the Light Rail to Phoenix Public Market before catching a Diamondbacks game or bowling at Lucky Strike – topping it all off with dinner at Pomo Pizzeria and live music at Crescent Ballroom. It’s never, ever boring down here.

What’s the best spot in Downtown Phoenix for a power lunch?

I try to do all of my lunches at Phoenix Public Market. The entire building buzzes with energy, the food is fantastic and parking is really easy.

It’s Friday night and you and your wife are making last-minute dinner plans. Where do you go?

We love going to Cibo. It’s a longtime favorite. The food is fantastic and we love the ambiance. In the winter, we’ll head to Rum Bar after dinner for some Hot Butter Rum. Amazing!

Finish this sentence: When I’m walking around Downtown Phoenix, I’m constantly surprised by…

…all of the new shops and restaurants that are opening, major companies that are moving to downtown offices and the number of people out and about. Downtown Phoenix is a real hotspot!

Think fast: Penthouse loft in a Downtown Phoenix skyrise or a revamped bungalow in the Coronado District?

Penthouse loft. A high-rise provides you with amazing amenities – like a gym, pool, and underground garage parking – all within a location that’s literally steps from all of the best downtown hotspots. And the views from a penthouse are incredible. Some have city lights and mountain views out of every window. My favorite condo high rise in downtown is probably Portland On The Park! I love its interior architecture and overall vibe!

Finish this sentence: What I love about Downtown Phoenix living is…

I love the uniqueness of downtown Phoenix! There are so many amazing restaurants and coffee shops to check out, not to mention a great happy hour. Your girl loves a good Instagram-able food, coffee, cocktail outing.

I also love being able to walk wherever I want to go. I personally dislike driving downtown and would much rather walk myself around finding new spots to check out! I’m always down to stop by the Churchill and grab a drink and eat a cheese pizza before I head home.

Testimonials

  • Erik, I just wanted to thank you for everything you have done to help us sell our house. I know it was a pretty emotional process for me, and you definitely earned your commission. I honestly don’t know if it would have sold if it weren’t for you. We for sure chose the perfect realtor to help us with our sale. You deserve an award for “Best Realtor”. Thank you again so much. My family is all together again, and you helped with that process.

  • Steve is the best Realtor in town! He is a pleasure to work with, he made finding our first house such a wonderful and pain free process! I would work with Steve on any real estate transaction in the future with great confidence.

  • I knew when Shelley and I got together for the sale of this unit, it would go fast, smoothly and with no hiccups — and it did. The attention she gave me on a small $100K condo is the same she’d give to someone selling a million-dollar property. She treats everyone the same with every detail of the process. No one is better than Shelley and her great team.

    – Will

  • Shelley, thank you so very much to you, Steve and Cindy for all that you did to sell our house! We enjoyed working with you so much. You made the whole process easy. New we can focus on our transition to Salt Lake City. Best wishes to all of you.

  • Steve has also helped my wife and I to sell two homes in the last three years. I can not say enough about how thorough and accommodating he was, I was kept up to date all throughout the process, although I know he was also very busy with other clients as well.

    – Mark Smith

  • As a first time home buyer, I needed an agent who would not only take the time to understand what I was looking for in a home, but also guide me through the entire process. Erik earned my trust in our first meeting and managed to exceed my expectations with his knowledge of the market and commitment to finding me not just any home, but the right home. His initiative, efficiency, diligence and follow through make Erik an outstanding agent. He is incredibly organized, informative, flexible and experienced in his trade. I also learned firsthand that his reputation in his industry – including lenders and brokers – is unparalleled. It’s been one year since I closed on my home and I look back on my experience with joy as Erik made buying a home a wonderful one, rather than a stressful one.

  • Originally, I was given Steve’s name by mistake as someone who could help me RENT my property. Even though that was not something he did, he still was so helpful that I filed his number away for a time when I would be ready to sell. A few years later, I called Steve to sell my property and I can’t say enough great things about him. Knowledgeable, truthful, down to earth…and my interests were clearly the priority. My only regret is that I couldn’t use Steve to help me buy my home in Colorado!
