We took some friends downtown and ended up driving though Encanto/Palmcroft and on up Central Avenue. Our friends, who live in N. Scottsdale, were shocked to see million dollar homes in downtown and central Phoenix. Their surprise made me realize that a lot of people are fully unaware of the wonderful million dollar residences in the downtown and N. Central Phoenix region.

Downtown and central Phoenix are home to some pretty wonderful million dollar homes. Exquisite historic homes on large lots, exclusive condominiums and estates in Phoenix Country Club and along Central Avenue offer exclusive living in the Urban Core.

There are several dissimilarities between million dollar homes in downtown & central Phoenix verses PV and Scottsdale. Here are a few of the differences we’ve observed:

• Lot sizes are generally larger in Paradise Valley and N. Scottsdale. There are some acre plus lots in the downtown and central Phoenix region, just not as many.
• Many of the historic and estate homes in the downtown region have large trees and rich vegetation only achieved over decades. Since many of the homes are over 50 years old, the landscape is often quite mature and rich.
• Historic verses newer. We find many people fall in love with the downtown and central Phoenix region for one simple reason… no cookie cutter homes. Many tire of stucco or trendy neighborhoods without history or personality. Downtown Phoenix is home to a wide variety of distinctive properties in neighborhoods rich with character.
• View Lots are not common with million dollar homes in the downtown and central Phoenix region with the exception of penthouse condos and homes in the Phoenix Country Club.  Several condo style homes in developments like Crystal Pointe, One Lexington and Chateaux on Central have panoramic views of the Valley while the majestic homes in Phoenix Country Club offer golf course and city views.
