A wise man once said “the best way to spread holiday cheer is by signing loud for all to hear”, and downtown Phoenix is a holiday dream that even Buddy the Elf would be in awe of.

With the holidays in full swing and Christmas just a few days away, we’ve put together a list of some of the best places in downtown Phoenix to enjoy the holidays this season:

  • CitySkate Holiday Ice Rink: Central Avenue is transformed into an ice skater’s dream, decorated with a massive holiday tree and thousands of twinkling lights. Get all the NYC holiday vibes without the freezing temps. Ice skating in the desert, under the stars. Is there anything more quintessential winter than this?
  • Phoestivus: The annual holiday market has returned! Head to the Phoenix Public Market Dec. 13 and 20 for local, eclectic finds – perfect for last minute one-of-a-kind gifts, special appearances by Phreddy the Yeti and enjoying all that glitters downtown.
  • Miracle Pop-Up By Blue Hound: Date night, holiday style. The iconic Blue Hound bar and lounge will be completely transformed into a Christmas-themed extravaganza complete with over-the-top décor, tens of thousands of Christmas lights, hundreds of Elf on a Shelf dolls, ceilings swirling with icicles, garland, holiday glasses and mugs. Dress to impress with your favorite ugly sweater.
  • Snow Week at Arizona Science Center: Enjoy seven days of science wonder at Snow Week at Arizona Science Center, December 26 – January 1. Over 60 tons of snow will blanket Heritage and Science Park’s grassy hill in white. The Center will have daily demos including special ‘explosive’ demonstrations and kid-friendly activities throughout the week.

With so much to see and do, what holiday traditions will you try this year? Let us know in the comments below and we hope you and your family have a wonderful, festive season.
