Once every two years the people of Phoenix get a treat, a peek into homes in the Encanto Palmcroft Historic District. We are delighted to announce the 2013 Encanto Palmcroft Home Tour is happening soon. Below we have home tour information including how to buy tickets, where to park and more.
What Makes The Encanto Palmcroft Home Tour Special?
Encanto-Palmcroft has dozens of epic homes from the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s. The power brokers of Phoenix’s early days built many of these homes that feature revival architectural styles such as Georgian, Colonial, Cap Cod. Federal, Pueblo, Monterey and Tudor. Although you can find some of these styles in other historic districts, Encanto-Palmcroft is home to many of the largest with square footages often in the 3000-5000+ range and resting on 1/4 to nearly 1/2 acre lots. These homes often have features not often seen in newer homes as well as the mature land and street scape.
The bi-annual Encanto-Palmcroft home tour gives Phoenicians a wonderful glimpse inside and around several special historic properties. If you miss it this year you’ll have to wait until 2015 when the next historic home tour will be held.
Which Homes Will The Public Get To Visit at the 2013 Encanto Palmcroft Home Tour?
This year’s tour features a dozen historic homes from the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s. Below are pictures of some of the beauties scheduled for the 2013 Encanto-Palmcroft Home Tour. Among the houses will be a Federal style, Tudor Revival, Spanish Colonial Revival and many more.

Date: Sunday March 24th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Parking: The Encanto Palmcroft neighborhood will be closed to parking. Guests may park at the Phoenix College Parking lot located just east of 15th Aveune and Thomas Rd. A shuttle bus will take you to the tour and street fair. Click on the map to enlarge.
Food and Shopping: The tour includes a street fair with a good variety of vendors including food purveyors. (I’m hoping the grilled cheese guys are there.)
Tickets: You can purchase tickets at the tour for $20.00 each. No credit cards, just cash or check. You can also buy them online using PayPal for just $18.00 per ticket. Children 12 and under are free as long as accompanied by an adult. If you buy your ticket via PayPal, our online ticket will be exchanged for a the tour map/admission ticket.
