Downtown’s First Friday

Downtown Phoenix has made quite the transformation in the last few years. From a place that you only went to during the day, to a home of uniquely Arizona restaurants, museums, sports teams, and ASU, downtown Phoenix has quickly become a destination.

One of the best ways to experience downtown Phoenix? Join them for First Friday! Head downtown the first Friday of every month from 6-10 p.m. for one of the nation’s largest, self-guided art walks.

Phoenicians can tour more than 70 galleries, venues, and art-related spaces to see a variety of artwork and mediums and can enjoy the spirit of Phoenix. Artwalk guests can take advantage of the free shuttles that circulate on three routes through downtown Phoenix.

All First Friday shuttles meet at the Arizona Center, but guests can hop on and off any of the stops along the routes. Shuttle stops include notable hotspots Phoenix Art Museum, CityScape, Oasis on Grand and Unexpected Gallery. Be sure to take the shuttle to visit the revitalized Roosevelt Row, also known as RoRo, or head down to Grand Avenue!

As mentioned before, downtown Phoenix has become a hotspot for must-try restaurants! From chicken, to beers, to wine bars and breakfast spots, there is bound to be something for everyone! While you may have a bit of a wait on a First Friday, restaurants typically offer exclusive deals for diners during the famed day!

Have you missed First Friday? Third Friday has you covered! Third Friday focuses more on “gallery nights,” and is better known within the art community. If you are looking for a little less crowds, and a little more art gallery scene, this is your night.

Have you experienced First Friday?
